Please collect from this door, as it allows us to safely bring your cake directly to your vehicle.
Cake Care
Every cake leaves our bakery in excellent condition and is checked before collection or delivery.
Once your cake has been collected or delivered, responsibility for the cake transfers to the customer.
Cake care instructions are provided with every order.
For the safest journey home we recommend:
• Place the cake flat in the passenger footwell.
• Direct the air conditioning towards the floor during warm weather.
• Drive carefully and avoid sudden braking or sharp corners.
• Never transport the cake on a passenger’s lap or on a seat.
Once your cake has left our care, we cannot accept responsibility for damage caused during transport, handling or storage.
Warm Weather
Our cakes are made primarily with buttercream and are extremely sensitive to heat.
Please keep your cake refrigerated until approximately 45 minutes before serving.
In warm weather, buttercream cakes can soften, melt or, in rare circumstances, become unstable.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept responsibility for cakes affected by:
- High temperatures
- Direct sunlight
- Warm vehicles
- Incorrect storage
- Cakes left unrefrigerated
Delivery & Venue Set-Up
Where delivery and set-up have been arranged, we will carefully assemble your cake before leaving the venue and take photographs of the finished set-up.
Where possible, cakes should remain refrigerated until approximately 30–45 minutes before serving.
We will always advise venue staff on the best way to care for your cake before leaving.
However, once we have left the venue, we cannot be responsible for factors outside our control, including:
- Weather conditions
- Heating or air conditioning
- Direct sunlight
- Incorrect storage
- Movement by venue staff or guests
- Accidental damage
Where required, our cakes contain internal supports to maximise stability. However, cakes remain delicate, handmade products and environmental conditions are beyond our control.
Design & Handmade Products
Every Jodie Bakes cake is individually handmade.
Whilst we make every effort to recreate inspiration photographs or previous designs, no two cakes are ever identical.
Small variations in colour, decoration, finish, flowers and placement are to be expected and are part of the unique, handmade nature of our work.
Seasonal products and decorations may occasionally vary depending on availability, but the overall style and quality of your cake will always be maintained.
Changes to Your Order
We understand that plans can change and we’ll always do our very best to accommodate amendments wherever possible.
Changes to flavours, colours, wording, decorations, size, design or collection dates can usually be made up to 14 days before collection, subject to availability.
Unfortunately, changes requested within 14 days cannot be guaranteed, as ingredients, decorations and production schedules will already have been arranged.
If changes can be accommodated, additional charges may apply.
Significant changes requested close to your collection date may be treated as a cancellation of the original booking and a new booking may be required.
Allergies & Dietary Information
Please inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements before placing your order.
Whilst every reasonable precaution is taken, all products are prepared in a kitchen that handles ingredients including:
- Gluten
- Wheat
- Milk
- Eggs
- Nuts
- Peanuts
- Soya
We therefore cannot guarantee that any product is completely free from allergens or traces of allergens.
Customers are responsible for informing guests of any potential allergens before consumption.
Fresh Flowers & Non-Edible Decorations
Some cakes may include fresh flowers, dried flowers or decorative items.
Unless specifically prepared for food use, these items are not edible and should be removed before serving.
Where flowers are supplied by a florist or customer, Jodie Bakes Ltd cannot accept responsibility for their suitability for use on food products.
Photography
We love sharing our work!
Unless you specifically request otherwise, Jodie Bakes Ltd reserves the right to photograph your cake for use on our website, social media platforms and future marketing.
No personal information will ever be shared without your permission.

If you arrive after your allocated time, the bakery may already be closed.
Refunds cannot be issued for missed collections.
Orders that are not collected on the agreed date and where no alternative arrangements have been made may be disposed of after 24 hours.
Damage After Collection
We cannot offer refunds or replacements for cakes that have been damaged after collection or delivery due to transportation, accidental damage, incorrect storage, mishandling or customer error.
Complaints
We hope you’ll absolutely love your cake!
If, however, you have any concerns, please contact us within 24 hours of collection or delivery so that we have the opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue.
Unfortunately, we cannot consider complaints once the cake has been substantially consumed, altered or disposed of.
Consumption & Storage
For the very best quality, we recommend enjoying your cake within 3–5 days of collection (depending on the cake type).
Please follow the storage instructions supplied with your cake.
We cannot guarantee quality where cakes have been frozen, stored incorrectly or consumed outside the recommended timeframe.
Force Majeure
Jodie Bakes Ltd shall not be liable for delays or failure to fulfil an order due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, flooding, fire, power outages, supplier shortages, road closures, government restrictions or emergencies.
Should this occur, we will always work with you to find the best possible solution, including rearranging your booking or providing a refund where appropriate.

Last Updated: 7 August 2026
At Jodie Bakes Ltd, the safety of our customers is extremely important to us.
We prepare all of our products in a working bakery where all 14 major UK allergens are regularly handled. While we take great care to minimise the risk of cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee that any of our products are completely free from allergens.
Allergens Used in Our Bakery
Our bakery regularly handles the following allergens:
- Celery
- Cereals containing gluten (including wheat, rye, barley and oats)
- Crustaceans
- Eggs
- Fish
- Lupin
- Milk
- Molluscs
- Mustard
- Peanuts
- Sesame
- Soya
- Sulphur dioxide and sulphites
- Tree nuts (including almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, cashews, pecans, Brazil nuts, pistachios and macadamia nuts)
Because these allergens are present throughout our bakery, there is always a risk of cross-contact during storage, preparation, baking, decorating and packaging.
Our Commitment
We take food safety seriously and make every reasonable effort to reduce the risk of cross-contamination by:
- Following strict food hygiene procedures.
- Cleaning equipment and work surfaces regularly.
- Storing ingredients appropriately where possible.
- Training staff in food hygiene and allergen awareness.
- Keeping ingredient information up to date.
However, despite these precautions, we cannot guarantee that any product is free from traces of allergens.
Customers with Allergies
If you or someone you are ordering for has a food allergy, intolerance or coeliac disease, please contact us before placing your order so we can discuss the ingredients used in the product you are interested in.
We are happy to provide ingredient information wherever possible.
However, because of the shared bakery environment, we do not recommend our products for anyone with severe or life-threatening allergies, as we cannot eliminate the risk of cross-contamination.
Ingredient Information
Ingredient information is available on request. While we take every care to ensure this information is accurate, ingredients supplied by manufacturers may occasionally change without notice. If you have any concerns, please contact us before placing your order.
Customer Responsibility
It is the customer’s responsibility to inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements before placing an order.
If allergen information is not requested before an order is placed, Jodie Bakes Ltd cannot accept responsibility for any allergic reactions.
Contact Us
If you have any questions about allergens or ingredients, please contact us before ordering.
